Internet Resource Description of Resource Use in Mathematics Teaching
Cool Math This is a fun website that contains extra help for pre-algebra up to calculus courses and has games and other quick references. Cool Math website helps students learn math using fun activities. Although it is a little childish, I think Jr. High students would find extra help at this website and enjoy it too.
Web Math In this site there are hundreds of instant-answer, self-help, math solvers, and instant help on math problems. Web Math provides reliable answers and explanations to math problems. This is great place for student to go for help to a problem that they may be stuck on.
Khan Academy Khan Academy has so many tutorials on a variety of math contents. The tutorials in Khan Academy are very helpful in explaining mathematical concepts. It's like having a tutor or teacher there. They also do tutorials on probability/statistics and test preparations.
World of Math The great thing about this site is that there is something for not only students but also serves as a resource for teachers and parents. This website has homework help, practice, tutoring, tools, and games to help my students, as well as a variety of resources parents and me.
High School Math In this resource we find access to a number of resources encompassing ways to help learn and teach math. For mathematics teaching this website provides central place for finding other resources. Thus, I can find ways to help my students in this central location.
Math Playground This is another fun website that has games to help student have fun while they practice math concepts and logical thinking. This is a great website to let my students have fun while practicing fundamental mathematics concepts.
S.O.S Mathematics S.O.S. Mathematics is your free resources for math review material form Algebra to Differential Equations. This is a great study site for high school students to get help with homework, refresh memory and skills, and prepare for tests.
Math Forum This site leads you to links that take you to some great classroom resources in their respective areas. The resources that this site lead to include lesson plans and planning sites for me as a teacher and problems, reference materials, and other helpful things for students.
Explore Learning Here is a site that is very interactive. In contains mathematics gizmos use to help students explore concepts. In mathematics teaching this is a great source to help students understand concepts and material through the use of gizmos that visually demonstrate concepts. Student can use this site to see how and why math happens. The down side is that is isn't free.
Joe Mercer's Math MaterialThis is a retired math teacher's website and contains lessons, worksheets, and resources that he created and used over his years of teaching. It is nice to have help from a teacher who has been through it all and to have access to those things that they found success in using, so that I can try them and have success also.
